Phil Walker

Chair of Council

Phil Walker was appointed Chair of Council in August 2020.

Phil has 30 years' business experience with leadership roles in IBM and PA Consulting. He led global projects in both the public and private sector and was Chief Operating Officer of Capgemini for six years until 2009. From 2010 to 2017 he was CEO of a firm that advised companies in the Europe, US and Asia. He is also a non-executive Director of NHS Dorset with a focus on digital strategy.

Phil started his career teaching mathematics in a London school and ran a support unit for excluded children. He was a founding member of the ‘Powerlist’ and led an initiative to support London pupils into the world of work. Phil is also a mentor to several students as part of the student-led BAME mentoring programme.

He is a graduate of Loughborough University and maintains an interest in their Master’s sport programme.
