Responding to industry needs, Roehampton now proudly offers MA Publishing.

Drawing on the expertise of some of the UK's top publishing academics and designed in consultation with publishers in industry, MA Publishing has been launched at Roehampton.

Lead by Dr Susan Greenberg, one of the UK's leading Publishing academics, the new MA Publishing programme provides students with a preparation in industry knowledge and skills, with additional specialist training in editing, publishing for children and young adults, archives and book history.

Roehampton is one of only a handful of institutions in the country that offer a master's qualification in publishing, and one of even fewer that offers a specific editing module as part of the degree. Roehampton is already recognised by publishers for its excellence in Children's Literature and the University provides students with extensive networking opportunities with industry professionals, ensuring that graduates are equipped with all the skills and knowledge required for a successful career.

Dr Greenberg, programme convenor, says ‘The contribution that postgraduate publishing students make is highly valued by the industry, and the skills and insights that can be gained from the degree are transferable to many types of work. Roehampton supports its students to reach the highest calibre, and offer that edge’.

Head of the Department of English and Creative Writing, Professor Laura Peters says ‘We are delighted to offer this new degree programme, led by one of the country's publishing experts. It will be attractive to students across a wide range of disciplines, and those who are already working in the literary world’.
