Using the social learning platform, FutureLearn, the six week MOOC (Massive Open Online course) is available to anyone from anywhere in the world completely free of charge.

Learners are guided through Tudor history by Professor Suzannah Lipscomb and Professor Michael Cullinane, exploring the monarchs, literature, culture, religion and dress, and how the dynasty that has enthralled historians, students and producers has shaped modern-day British politics.

Professor Lipscomb teaches in the Department of Humanities at Roehampton, and has recently launched her new book, The Voices of Nîmes: Women, Sex, and Marriage in Reformation Languedoc, which examines what life was like for ordinary women in early modern France. The book uses testimonials from women using church court records, that have only been studied a handful of times before. Dr Lipscomb is the first to use them to explore the outlook and experiences of ordinary women in early modern Languedoc.

Although the course has started, learners can still join here.
