Join our innovative outreach programme designed bolster students’ interest in history

The University is delighted to announce that a number of academics from Roehampton’s history courses are available to visit secondary schools, either in person or virtually, to deliver taster sessions. The sessions will cover topics beyond the GCSE or A level curriculums, and while being accessible and age appropriate, are designed to whet students’ appetite for studying history at degree level. Sample content can be viewed below. In the London area our staff can travel to visit participating schools in person, or for schools elsewhere in the UK the sessions can take place online. There will be no cost to any participating school.

Participating students will have the opportunity to expand their subject knowledge, question the lecturers first hand about studying at university, and will have something unique to include on their personal statement. We are equally happy to talk to Year 10 and Year 11 pupils who may be considering history at A level.
