AimHigher is a collaborative partnership that aims to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access Higher Education. Roehampton has supported AimHigher for a number of years and significantly increased our work with the organisation in 2019/20. The Schools and Colleges Engagement Team were supported by colleagues across the University including staff from Social Sciences, Media, Culture and Language, Dance and Drama, Theatre and Performance.

Catherine Fenwick, Director of AimHigher London said Huge congratulations go to the Roehampton Schools and Colleges Engagement Team for winning ‘AimHigher Institution of the Year’ for the second year running! The panel were unanimous in their decision as a positive can-do attitude has led to us delivering more AimHigher and UniConnect activities with Roehampton than any other university.  Roehampton thoroughly deserve to keep the crown of Institution of the Year.”

Professor Jean-Noël Ezingeard, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Roehampton said “I would like to extend my congratulations to the Schools and Colleges Engagement team on this award. It is testament to their hard work and commitment to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed in higher education, something which is very important to us as an institution.”

The AimHigher Awards recognise ‘the extra mile’ practitioners go in delivering collaborative outreach activities to over 1,600 young people every year.
