Students can receive constructive academic writing feedback in less than 24 hours. This formative feedback covers the basics such as referencing, grammar, spelling, structure and readability. Students can also get live one-to-one personal help in real time, out of traditional university hours, 365 days of the year.

During a successful pilot in 2019-2020, student take-up of Studiosity was high with 25.8% of enrolled students using the service, which they gave a satisfaction rate of 93%. Nearly 40% of students using Studiosity were from backgrounds under-represented in higher education – and of that group, more than 50% went on to achieve a grade of 60% or higher.

Roehampton provides a wide range of support to ensure all students, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to succeed. Studiosity forms part of an integrated academic achievement service that provides a wide range of support to students online and in person to boost success.

A large portion of the student body commute to the University, and others have caring responsibilities or work commitments, so it is important that students can access support when it suits their busy lives. Over 70% of essential reading on modules can be accessed in a digital form online as a result of the University’s Library Anywhere project.

Dr Stephen Driver, Vice-Provost (Education) said “We are committed to improving the student experience, including providing high quality teaching, top class facilities and a wide range of student support services. Studiosity is an online service that has provided our students with on-demand study help when they need it most, 24/7, 365 days a year. With over 70% of our students commuting to campus, it is one of a number of steps we are taking to ensure our students have the best possible learning support so that they can successfully juggle their demands and succeed in their academic studies.”

Isabelle Bristow, Studiosity’s Managing Director for Europe said “We are delighted to be extending our partnership with the University of Roehampton after a successful pilot in 2019-20. It has been wonderful to work with their fantastic team to build student and staff engagement and help to integrate Studiosity into their student support ecosystem. We look forward to working with the University to provide institution-wide study support for their students over the next five years.
