Skills
On our MA Human Rights and International Relations, our priority is ensuring that you graduate with a professional skillset. This incorporates;
- Exploring the role of human rights and international relations in issues such as terrorism, struggles for democratic freedoms, genocide, defence policy, climate change and social justice.
- Introducing you to core international relations, historical, philosophical, legal, sociological and theological debates in human rights.
- Exposing you to the latest methods in human rights research, equipping you with the skills to conduct your own research in the world of human rights promotion and protection.
These three strands will ensure that you graduate with the skills to succeed in a highly competitive environment for international human rights advocacy and protection.

You will be taught by active researchers who are committed to social justice and have made groundbreaking impacts on society. The Crucible Centre for Human Rights Research is a multidisciplinary research centre conducting research on a range of contemporary human rights, migration and related issues. You will benefit from regular workshops and seminars that the centre holds as well as being a part of major EU-funded projects and activities.

Our Research
Our research is led by a multi-disciplinary team of sociologists, criminologists, social anthropologists and socio-legal scholars, united by a sociological approach to exploring inequalities, prejudice and social trends as they relate to social justice in diverse societies. Our work on social justice centres around four principal research themes: citizenship, migration and rights; personal life, sexuality and identity; social and political violence; and health policies, illness and well-being. Our Alumni
I am on the track of completing my MA Human Rights and International Relations aiming to graduate September this year. I am new mum to a 14-month-old boy. My favourite memory about my programme and time at Roehampton- I was taught by highly professional and skilled lecturer and was offered a chance to study abroad in 2020 at UNCW as part of my degree.
