Services designed to support you

Our teaching and support is designed to meet the needs of students, and fit around their committments. We provide a wide range of support, available on campus and online. This includes online career support, wellbeing support, and 24/7 online learning resources. Our world-class Library is open 24 hours a day at key points in the year and our teaching timetables are also designed with commuting students in mind.

Our Students' Union and Colleges run events for Roehampton students living off-campus to access additional support, and meet and socialise with other students.

Free bus services

The University of Roehampton campus has lots of excellent transport links, with around 20 buses an hour going to nearby Barnes station, Richmond, Putney, Clapham Junction, Tooting and more.

We also have our own dedicated free student bus service, exclusively for our students and staff, that runs from our campus to Barnes Station. This service runs every 20 minutes, between Barnes, the main campus and fast to Wimbledon Station, connecting to the London tram network and overland trains.

Plenty of options by train, tube, car and cycling

Roehampton is in the heart of south-west London, with plenty of options to get around the capital and beyond. We are only 10 minutes walk, or minutes on the bus, from Barnes station, which has regular trains run to Waterloo, Clapham Junction, Hounslow, Richmond and more. We are a short bus ride from Putney Bridge, a tube station on the District line. As a student, you can get 30% off the cost of Transport for London services.

We also offer a range of facilities for cyclists, including plenty of secure storage areas for bikes, shower facilities and lockers for students and also now have ebikes available on campus.

We also have free student car parking available on-campus, and parking for students with disabilities. Please see our parking FAQs for more information.

Tailored facilities

All four of our colleges have spaces specially designed for commuting students to relax, study and eat. These include College Kitchens, which have lockers and comfortable seating, along with fridges and microwaves to store and reheat food, and Pocket Lounges, areas with soft furnishings and powerpoints for you to charge your laptop or phone. There are are also Touchdown Spaces, with powerpoints for laptops, and chairs and tables.

The kitchens, lounges and Touchdown Spaces are located conveniently across both campuses and all four colleges. Additionally, our wide variety of cafés, dining halls and study spaces are open to all students.

Car parking

We are currently one of the only London universities that can provide free on-campus student car parking (subject to availability). Take a look at our car parking FAQs for more information.

We are committed to encouraging green transport choices, and encourage students and staff to make use of other options, including the free univesity bus service, wider public transport and our cycling facilities.
