From application to graduation, we are here to help you make the transition through University life. Deciding to study at university is a big step for anybody and we feel that you deserve extra support to guide you through the stages if you are leaving care to come to university.
If you choose to attend the University of Roehampton, we have a range of support available for Care Leavers. We strongly recommend that you tick the box on your UCAS application as this will help us send you information about the support we can offer.

* A care leaver is a young person who has been in the care of, or has been given accommodation by, their local authority (LA) for a period of at least 13 weeks before the age of 16. They must also not have reconciled with their parents between leaving care and starting their course.
CLASS
If you are a care leaver, joining the University of Roehampton, or any other London based university, this September, you could join our care leaver transition programme. Find out more here.
Financial Support
Care Leavers who enrol on Undergraduate programmes at the University of Roehampton are eligible for the University of Roehampton Care Leaver Bursary, worth £2,000 per academic year, as well as priority for the Hardship Grants if all of the criteria are met. Please note that this is in addition to any other entitlement to financial support you may have.
Accommodation
Care Leaver students are given priority for a place in halls and 365-day accommodation is available on request. Students are invited to move in one week early and take part in a transition induction programme. The University offers 14 weeks of free accommodation or 52 weeks of accommodation at the cost of 38 week contract to care leavers.
Specialist Support
Our dedicated and experienced Student Support team will be available to support you through your transition to the University of Roehampton and throughout your time here. You can access counselling and mental health advice as a priority.
