This one-year top up programme is designed to provide a firm understanding of business management and entrepreneurship. It will equip you with the skills you need for a successful career in business.

You will develop as a confident, independent thinker with a detailed knowledge of business management and entrepreneurship, and equipped with the skills to adapt rapidly to change.

In readiness for your future career, you will acquire key attributes employers value, such as commercial acumen, self-reflection and emotional intelligence, alongside skills in research, analysis, numeracy and project management.

You will finish the course with a deep appreciation of the entrepreneurial process, and the skills to drive innovation and adapt to change.

You will be exploring key concepts such as managing people, operations, logistics, marketing and finance.

You will learn about corporate strategy, business ethics and how small businesses and start-ups need to operate in a competitive business environment.

  • 240 credits from a Higher National Diploma (HND), a foundation degree (FdA/ FdSc) or equivalent international qualification in a relevant subject.
  • 240 credits from years 1 and 2 of an undergraduate degree (BA/BSc) in a relevant subject at a different institution.

Validation and curriculum review

What is validation?
Validation is a formal process through which the University approves a programme (content, teaching, learning and assessment) as being of appropriate standard and quality. This is a normal process used throughout the university sector.

The University expects to publish details of the validated programme in the academic year prior to the start date of the programme. What is curriculum review?
Curriculum review is the regular and systematic monitoring and reviewing of programmes. It is a normal process in the sector and it is the way by which the university ensures that your course remains up-to-date and relevant. The process may result in changes to the content, structure and/or assessment of the programme.

The University expects to publish details of the re-validated programme by 31 March in the academic year prior to the start date of the programme.
